BTS SKIN WITH KIEHL'S

As summer comes to a dreadful end, I can’t help but think about school, acing assignments, getting back into my regular work out routine, and breaking out from all the stress associated with being a 22-year-old student in their final year of university. I like to view every new year associated with a fresh start. While some of my routines have remained the same since freshman year, I definitely want to upgrade my skincare routine to put my best face forward in lieu of what’s to conquer this year.

I was recently at Kiehl’s where I had the opportunity and privilege to take home and try out all new products that would elevate my skincare game. I was helped by Shireen, who was such a badass explaining how each item worked, that she and I created a new routine for me to try out to help minimize oil production, acne, and discolouration on my face. In chronological order, here is what we came up with:

  1. Calendula Deep Cleansing Foaming Face Wash. I love that this face wash was specifically created for sensitive skin. As someone who breaks out easily I needed a cleanser that would do the work without creating further damage. After rinsing off the foam, my skin felt fresh. It was dry enough where I could feel my pores unclogged, but not too dry where it feels like chemicals were poured on my face.

  1. Oil Eliminator Toner. I blogged about this in a previous post and I couldn’t resist giving it up. I always keep the travel size version with me in my bag and would take bathroom breaks at work to apply at least 3 sprays. It definitely lives up to its name by eliminating oil as soon as possible.

  1. Micro-Blur Skin Perfector. I’ve had this for a while, but I found it useless, until Shireen explained it to me properly. Initially I was told that it was the “Photoshop Cream” where it creates a matte finish on your face. I then found out that it refines pores and uneven spots in addition to eliminating shine. The crushed lentil beans conceal large pores and evens out your skin tone which I found essential, especially due to the aftermath of pimples.

  1. Ultra Facial Oil-Free Gel Cream. Because my skin is extremely oily, I needed something strong to prevent my skin from producing excessive amounts of oil. I loved that the cream was so light weight, yet so effective that I could actually feel my skin tightening and feeling clean afterwards.

  1. Facial Fuel Eye De-Puffer. I’ve seen every blogger rave about this product so obviously I had to give it a try. Simply rubbing it under the bags of your eyes, gives you a new found energy to conquer your books and finish that assignment. Being formulated with caffeine, this is an essential in every student’s routine. The immediate cooling feeling revitalizes your senses and assures you are getting your money’s worth. In addition, the fact that the packaging is so minuscule allows you to take it to class or even the library for easy application when you feel the time is right.

There you have it. In just 5 simple steps with some amazing products, you can achieve skin that you want to show off and are proud to call yours. Ever since my first application, I have noticed my skin is less oily, my acne has been reduced, and my forehead is left with a matte finish that evens out my skin tone. I highly recommend these goods if you are a student on the go, or even a high schooler who is starting to break out for the first time. Also, definitely visit Shireen at the Kiehl’s boutique at Scarborough Town Centre’s Hudson’s Bay to create your own skincare routine for this upcoming school year.

Candidly,

Jonah
